Mother and Son Shot in Lawncrest; Lansdale Priest Arrested; Penn Student Suicide

A mother and son were both found dead, shot in the head, in their home in the Lawncrest section of Northeast Philadelphia this afternoon. Police were called to the scene at 3:30 pm Sunday on the 300 block of Stevens Street. A 29-year-old woman had found the two victims, a 49-year-old mother and her 22-year-old son. They have been identified as Donna Muller and Rich Muller. One body was discovered in a bedroom and the other in a hallway. There was no obvious sign of forced entry into the home and the home did not appear to have been ransacked. Police are investigating and are interviewing several witnesses.

A Lansdale, PA priest has been charged with harassment and indecent assault after he allegedly groped a younger man at a YMCA locker room last month. The archdiocese released a statement calling 64-year-old Rev. John Roebuck's actions â€œdeeply troubling.â€ The alleged encounter occurred December 15th at at the North Penn YMCA. Police say after a short conversation he shook the man's hand and then grabbed his genitals with the other hand. Roebuck has a preliminary hearing on Thursday.

A University of Pennsylvania student committed suicide Friday night by jumping off a parking garage roof in Center City. 19-year-old freshmen Madison Holleran of Allendale, NJ fell from a garage near 15th and Spruce streets. Police ruled her death a suicide. Holleran was a member of the university's track and field team. Penn president Amy Gutmann released a statement:

The entire Penn Community is deeply saddened by the death of Madison Holleran. She was bright and well liked with an incredible future ahead of her. There are simply no words that can properly convey the sense of heartache that we all feel at such a tragic loss.
