Msgr. Lynn Granted Bail; Gov. Corbett Drops Lottery Bid; Teen Shot outside party in DE on Saturday

Monsignor William Lynn will be granted bail while his conviction on child endangerment goes through the appeals process. Judge Teresa Sarmina set bail at $250,000, requiring 10 percent to post. Lynn will also have to wear an electronic monitoring anklet while out on bail. Sarmina said that she wants Lynn to appear before her in person so that she can explain the full conditions of his release. Lynn is currently in state prison in Northeast Pennsylvania where he has served 18 months of a 3-6 year prison term. Lynn's lawyer is now making arrangement's so he can appear the Criminal Justice Center in front of the Philadelphia Common Court. Lynn's conviction was overturned last week by an appeals court.

Gov. Tom Corbett announced today that he was no longer pursuing a deal with the operator of the British national lottery to run the Pennsylvania lottery. That deal, announced over a year ago, promised $34 billion in profits over the next 20 years. Attorney General Kathleen Kane's office rejected the Camelot Global Services contract calling it illegal. â€œWe have decided not to extend Camelot's bid for the Lottery Private Management Agreement first reached over a year ago," Gov. Corbett said.Â "As we move forward, we will take what we've learned to make our successful lottery even better--expanding the player and retailer base, improving player loyalty, and implementing strategies that will grow our lottery, responsibly and efficiently." The Pennsylvania lottery had $3.7 billion in sales last year.

Police have identified the teen shot outside a party in Delaware on Saturday night. 16-year-old D'Andre Green of New Castle was shot and killed outside the Brookside Community Center in Newark. The community center on 900 block of Marrows Road was hosting a party for high schoolers. There were about 100 students in attendance. As the teens were leaving the building at around midnight someone shot into the crowd. Green was hit in the back and was rushed to Christiana Hospital where he died.
