Eagles Lose To Vikings, Missing NJ Fisherman Search, Archdiocese Removes Five More Priests

Philadelphia Eagles suffered a pretty pathetic 48-30 loss to the Vikings Sunday snapping the Eagles' five-game winning streak, dropping them to 8-6 with two games left. The Eagles never led. The 48 points was the most scored by the Vikings since 1998 and the most the Eagles have given up this season since their 36-21 victory over the New York Giants. The Birds are still in first place in the NFC East, as the Cowboys lost to the Packers.

The Coast Guard has temporarily suspended its search for a missing fisherman at the Jersey Shore. Authorities say Edward Broderick was last heard from around 6 p.m. Saturday, when he told a friend that his vessel was en route to a clamming facility in Highlands. The friend reported him missing about four hours later, and Broderickâ€™s submerged vessel was found and identified outside the marina where he originally intended to end his trip.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia says it has resolved all but one of the cases involving allegations of child sex abuse by priests with the announcement Sunday that five more priests have been removed from ministry. More than a year ago, Father Michael Chapman was cleared of an abuse allegation by the Archdiocese review board and deemed suitable for ministry. But Archdiocese spokesman Ken Gavin says Chapman â€” most recently of the Ascension of Our Lord â€” has again been removed, for a subsequent and substantiated abuse allegation. Gavin says four other priests were removed for having violated standards of ministerial behavior and boundaries, not actual abuse.
