Newark Murder Suspect Sought, Philadelphia Fire Hearings, D.C Driver Dead

Delaware State Police say a search is underway for an attempted murder suspect in Newark. Marquel May is wanted by the Cecil County Sheriff's Office for attempted murder. State police say the search was initiated around 4:15 p.m. when members of the Cecil County Drug Task Force attempted to stop a vehicle on Old Baltimore Pike in the area of South College Avenue, and May fled from the vehicle.

Nearly 18 months after a vacant, burning Kensington warehouse collapsed, killing Philadelphia Fire Lieutenant Robert Neary and firefighter Daniel Sweeney, and injuring two fellow firefighters, a unanimous vote in City Council signaled the start of a new search for answers and reform. A preliminary report by NIOSH, revealed these findings: the dilapidated building, frequented by prostitutes and drug users, had 65 people living inside and had been reported nine times to the Cityâ€™s Department of Licenses and Inspections prior to the fire. Thereâ€™s no word yet on when the hearings will be held or when NIOSH will issue its final report, which will include recommendations.

A woman is dead after D.C. police say she drove her unauthorized vehicle to a White House checkpoint, hit a Secret Service agent while fleeing the scene and then led officers on a high-speed chase to the U.S. Capitol, causing a chaos in the District. Police shot and killed the driver. An officer took a child from inside the car to a hospital. She is in good condition under protective custody. The Capitol building was placed on lock-down and Capitol Police issued a shelter-in-place- order following reports of shots fired near the building.
