Historic Firehouse Fire Old City; Same Sex Marriage Ruling in Jersey; Lorenzos in Well Fargo Center

A fire erupted at a historic firehouse in Old City Philadelphia around lunchtime. The fire started before noon at the firehouse located at 4th and Arch Streets in Old City. Firefighters were able to respond quickly to the blaze at their own house but not before it caused significant damage to the doors and interior rafters. It was brought under control in about 15 minutes. The fire started when the engine block of an ambulance parked inside exploded. This firehouse is referred to as â€œBen Franklin Firehouseâ€ and located at the site of the oldest firehouse in America founded by Franklin in 1736.

A New Jersey judge has ruled that the state must allow same sex couple to marry. Judge Mary Jacobson said that since the federal government now recognizes those marriages that the state also should, or else it would violate the constitution. Marriages can begin on October 21st leaving time for an appeal. Same sex couples in New Jersey have had the right to enter into civil unions since 2006.

Comcast-Spectacor is bringing in a slice of South Street flavor for this year's seasons of Flyers, Sixers, Wings, and Soul games at the Wells Fargo Center. Lorenzo and Sons Pizza, famous for it's giant slices, will be opening up four locations throughout the arena that will be ready to serve fans very soon. Lorenzo's owner Giuseppe Pulizzi is overseeing the installation of the pizza ovens and training new employees to make sure that the pies made at the sports complex are done exactly the same way they do it on South Street."It's going to be the same size, same sauce, same cheese, same everything." They'll even be open during concerts, so need to wait until the show's over to grab your late night slice!
