Rapture 2011....Take 2

May 21, 2011 came and went like any other day of the week. There was no rapture... no end of the world. But members of the eBible fellowship have a new message and date for your calendar.

According to Lester McClendon of Newark, NJ, May 21 was about the end of salvation. From here on in, no one can be saved. His bible leader told him, you have to be patient. God had to work this one out. Mclendon said the new and improved Judgment Day is October 21.

"That is going to be the end of the world, definitely," he said.

"May 21 was just an appetizer for the end of the world."

McLendon will continue studying his Bible verses until the next Judgment Day comes.

"I'm ready to pack it in when the Rapture comes," he said.

"And Oct. 21 is going to be the real granddaddy of Judgment Days."

If May 21st was just the appetizer, then I'll skip the main course, and bring a bag lunch. Absolutely anything can happen in 5 months and it would be infinitely greater in scope than Saturday's "end of salvation" which came up blank on all counts. Lester can keep pondering over those Bible verses, and I'm sure he'll find the numbers 10,21, and 2011 among the pages not that it means anything as specific as this October. Of course the end times are in there too, but clearly not predicted when. The end of the world will happen someday, sometime, maybe tomorrow, maybe a million years. It's a good idea to try to live the the kind of life so that you are always prepared, but not so much so at the expense of living your life. The point is to live a decent life in all your affairs all the time, not just repent and say you are sorry now because you think there's no time left. The message is oook, we all have to start sometime, but be genuine about it, not just because we fear fire and brimstone.
