Ephrata Sign Misspelled; Gosnell Signs Plea; Person Hit by Train in Havertown; Pennypack Search Cont

A freshly installed road sign has many people looking twice out in Lancaster County. The new sign is along Rt. 222 between Reading and Ephrata. It is supposed to read â€œ322 Ephrata Exit 2 Milesâ€. Instead the R and A are reversed in the middle of the name. The newly misspelled town name reads E-P-H-A-R-T-A. Which phonetically sounds a bit like flatulence. Anyway, no one in the sign shop nor the installation contractor noticed the mistake. It will take almost $1200 to replace the sign and could take about a month.

Kermit Gosnell, the former West Philadelphia abortion doctor, has signed a plea agreement with federal prosecutors over the weekend. Gosnell was charged with running a â€œpill millâ€ or selling prescriptions for oxycotin, xanax, and other narcotics out of his clinic. After his clinic was raided in 2010, investigators found the conditions leading to the murder case. Gosnell had previously rejected the deal and entered a plea of not guilty. He is due in court on July 9th. Gosnell is already serving life without parole.

A person was struck and killed this afternoon by a SEPTA high speed line train at Penfield Station, located at the 700 block of East Manoa Road in Havertown, Delaware County. This incident is still under investigation. Shuttle buses are operating in place of service between 69th Street and Wynnewood Road along the Norristown High Speed Line.

Police resumed the search for 13-year-old Brandon Boyle who went missing yesterday after jumping into Pennypack Creek in Northeast Philadelphia. His 11-year-old brother was rescued after also jumping in. The currents in the rain swollen creek have been running especially fast and rescuers had to call off the search last night. The boys were used to swimming at the creek but might have underestimated the dangerous conditions. The authorities are now operating a recovery mission to find the missing boy.
