North Philadelphia Double Shooting, Camden Bike Trails, Wildwood Boardwalk Attire Ordinance

One man is dead, and another man is hospitalized after a double shooting in North Philadelphia Wednesday night on the 1700 block of W. Cumberland Street. A 30-year-old man was shot twice in the head and once in the back. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital by police where he was later pronounced dead. Police say a 19-year-old man was shot in the left leg. He was also taken to Temple University Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has unveiled a “master plan,” to connect Camden County with a system of bike and multi-use trails. When the master plan has been realized, county officials estimate about five years from now, you’ll be able to get from the Ben Franklin Bridge to Winslow Township by bike. Parts of the bike trail network are already in place and the master plan will guide ongoing efforts to connect them, by the Open Space Advisory Committee and individual municipalities.

A new boardwalk ordinance in Wildwood will be voted on June 12. The proposed ordinance states shoes or flip-flops must be worn at all times, a shirt must be on between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. and pants, swim shorts and skirts must not hang more than 3 inches past the person’s waist. If people don’t follow the ordinance police will ask them to pull up their pants, put on a shirt, or put on foot protection. If they refuse, they will be thrown off the boardwalk and issued a citation.
