South Street DJ Found w/ Drugs; Kermit Gosnell Guilty; NJ Death Race Trooper Sentenced

The popular DJ who was shot inside the Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream shop at 2nd and South Street over the weekend was found with a large amount of drugs in his apartment. Tom Watson, 36, also known as DJ Fenicx, was going to his apartment above the shop when he was murdered. Surveillance video shows Watson trying to fight off his attackers before he was shot. The are only described as black males last seen wearing dark-colored hoodies. Police believe they were after the drugs because his expensive music equipment was not taken. A large amount of cocaine and marijuana was recovered from inside his apartment. Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS. There is a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell was found guilty of 3 counts of first-degree murder for snipping the necks of three babies born alive during abortion procedures in his West Philadelphia clinic. Gosnell was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter of former patient Karnamaya Mongar after she was given a lethal dose of anesthesia. In addition to those charges, Gosnell was convicted of infanticide, racketeering and more than 200 counts of violating Pennsylvania's abortion laws by performing third-term abortions or failing to counsel women 24 hours in advance. He now faces the death penalty.

A judge sentenced a New Jersey state trooper to one year of probation and 75 hours of community service for leading a so-called “death race” along the Garden State Parkway. 48-year-old Sgt. First Class Nadir Nassry, a 26-year veteran, lost his job last year when he when he pled guilty to falsifying or tampering with records. Nassry concealed his patrol car's license plate with tape as he led an escort of Lamborghinis, Ferraris and other expensive, exotic cars down the expressway at speeds over 100 mph. The caravan was caught on video by another motorist and received national attention, dubbed “Death Race 2012” on youtube.
