Three More Suspects Taken into Custody in Boston Marathon Bombing

Three more suspects have been taken into custody in the Boston Marathon bombings. Boston police tweeted this morning that they have brought in three additional suspects in connection to the attack on Monday, April 15th when two bombs exploded near the finish line killing 3 and injuring more than 260 people.

Brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev were the initial suspects. Tamerlin died in a violent gun fight with police on April 18th. Dzhokhar escaped that night but was captured the next day suffering severe injuries.

UPDATE: Three college friends of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are under arrest on obstruction of justice charges. Two of them have been detained since April 20 on immigration charges. A third, an American, was taken into custody today. They are being charged with lying to federal investigators after taking things from Dzhokhar's room in New Bedford, MA. There is no indication they knew of the planned bombing, just hindered in the investigation afterward.

Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev were charged with conspiring to obstruct justice. Robel Philipos was charged with making false statements, federal authorities said. The three allegedly removed evidence from Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's apartment after the bombing including a laptop and emptied fireworks. They disposed of the evidence in the trash so that he wouldn't get into trouble.

Boston Police do advise that there is no threat to public safety.
