Lenape High School in Medford, Burlington County, New Jersey was evacuated for several hours this morning after suspicious graffiti was discovered inside a bathroom. The graffiti was discovered at 8:45 a.m. and the school was placed on immediate lockdown. The Medford police were called to assist in the evacuation of the school, where staff and students were taken to assigned outdoor locations. Police and canines searched the building and deemed it clear at 11:45 a.m. Classes resumed on a modified schedule and all after school activities would continue as normal. The nature of the graffiti was not released, but the investigation is ongoing.

An Abington postal worker is under arrest and accused of stealing cash from greeting cards sent through the mail. Jamie Fletcher, 25, of Chew Avenue in Philadelphia, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, and related offenses. Police say that as she sorted mail she would sift through greeting cards and sometimes open them, taking cash and gift cards before resealing them and placing them back into the mail stream. Fletcher worked in the Abington post office between January and April of this year. Investigators say she estimates she stole around $500 and about 10 gift cards. She has been released on $10,000 unsecured bail and is due back in court next month.

Police have charged a Bridesburg couple after they found their 6-year-old son sitting unattended in a car with a loaded gun on the floor. Melissa Seficiano, 23, and Emanual Cosme, 22, of the 5000 block of Worth Street, are charged with endangering the welfare of a child and weapons offenses. Last night police responded to a disturbance in the area and found the child sitting in a car with a loaded .44-caliber handgun inside. The child is now with his maternal grandmother.
