Boston Bombs were in Pressure Cookers; Carbon Monoxide Kills Bucks County Family of Four; AA Delays

More details are emerging about the nature of the bombs that exploded during the Boston Marathon on Monday afternoon. Officials speaking on condition of anonymity have stated that explosives were placed inside 6 liter kitchen pressure cookers and packed with shrapnel such as ball bearings and nails. They were hidden inside black duffel bags and placed in the crowd along the race route near the finish line. They are still trying to determine how the devices were detonated and who was behind the attacks. Authorities are appealing to the public to send in any photos or videos they have from the day because relevant evidence could have been captured by anybody even without them knowing it. At this point 3 people have died and over 170 injured, including 17 critically.

A Bucks County family of four was found dead at their home late Monday night of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. Pennsylvania State Police troopers were called to the home on Kumry Road in Upper Milford Township. When they entered the residence they found a car running in the attached garage with a body inside. Upon further investigation of the house they found three other bodies. They have to await the results of the autopsies but they believe the family died as a results of the fumes from the automobile. Authorities have not released the identities of the family but the deceased included two Quakertown Community School District children and their two parents.

American Airlines computers were down for most of the day disrupting travel for thousands as flights were canceled or delayed. The problem was with an outage in their main reservations system. AA was able to get the system back up at running at 4:30 pm EDT but that's not until they had already canceled 700 flights and delayed another 765 flights. Travelers can expect more delays and cancellations the rest of the day.
