A misinterpretation of a teenager's voicemail message containing lyrics from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song ended up with a Western Pennsylvania high school on lockdown and the teen arrested. A receptionist at a doctor's office called 19-year-old Travis Clawson to confirm an appointment. When she got his voicemail she thought she heard that he was “shooting people outside of the school” instead of the actual lyrics “shooting some b-ball outside of school,” referring to playing basketball. The receptionist called 911 and Economy, PA police arrested Clawson at Ambridge Area High School. He was released once the voice message was explained. Acting police Chief James Mann said that the police acted “appropriately.”

Ex-Miss Delaware Teen USA Melissa King resigned her crown last week amid allegations she was involved in an online porn video. She has not admitted she was the one who appears in the video. However, it seems like King is facing bigger problems in Maryland. Ocean City police confirmed that warrants were issued last year after she failed to appear in court on separate citations for theft and underage possession of alcohol. She was cited last June for stealing money from a city bus fare box. Then she was cited in August on the alcohol charge. The warrant on the theft citation was issued in August and another warrant on the alcohol charge in October.

SEPTA has kicked off an initiative to combat rising numbers of lost or stolen phones throughout the transit system. Last year, 39 phones were lost or stolen per month on average. Starting today, SEPTA Transit Police officers will be handing out information on blue slips of paper informing transit riders on how they can prevent this from happening and what you can do to assist police in locating your missing device. They recommend installing a simple free app called “Find My iPhone” or “Find My Phone” through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. With these apps installed on the phone, investigators can easily track the lost/stolen phones back to their current locations. Criminals who know that the phones they steal might just become homing devices back to them will become more reluctant to steal them in the first place.
