A man hunt is still on tonight as police search for two suspects that invaded a Bucks County home this morning, terrorizing the occupants, burglarizing the house, and killing a man before leaving. Police were called to the scene at 300 block of Swartley Road in Hilltown Township at around 10:30 am Friday morning after a woman and her 12-year-old son were able escape to a neighbor's and make the call.

UPDATE: Joe Canazaro Hilltown Murder Update

The two masked bandits entered the home of 48-year-old Joseph Canazaro. They bound him, his girlfriend, and her 12-year-old son (her second child already left for school). They proceeded to perhaps steal weapons and bank books from the home. They were there for a few hours. During the robbery Canazaro was shot and killed. The other two only suffered minor injuries.

The killers fled in his 2006 Lincoln XLT pickup truck. That truck has been found abandoned in Upper Bucks County, behind a shopping center on the 1400 block of West Broad Street in Quakertown. The first suspect is described as approximately 5' 9" tall possibly Hispanic and the second suspect is described as an Asian male with a smaller build who was wearing a black jacket and cargo pants. Both suspects were wearing masks at the time and were armed with handguns. It is believed that they stole more weapons from the home and/or truck and are considered extremely dangerous. Do not approach, call 911 immediately.

The FBI and ATF have joined the investigation and man hunt. It is not known how the bandits got to the home of Canazaro, what they were looking for, what exactly they took and why. Authorities do believe that Canazaro was targeted in this attack, it was not a random assault.

Canazaro was the owner of the popular Finn McCool's Tavern in Ambler. The tavern has been closed for the past few months while going through a construction project. It seems they were about ready to re-open; they just posted on Facebook that they were hiring yesterday, but posted again Friday that any hiring will be postponed.
