The investigation into a fire at a Bensalem business is underway. An electrician was working on an electrical panel box inside the Adams Carpet in Bensalem when an explosion occurred, where he was engulfed in flames and ran towards the front of the store. He was flown to Temple Burn Center and is in extremely critical condition with burns on over 80% of his body.

Police say a young woman was approached by a man at the Broad-Ridge Spur at the SEPTA Chinatown stop. He asked her for a lighter, then lunged at her and began to beat her before dragging her by the ankles and throwing her onto the train tracks below. On Thursday, SEPTA police released a video which shows a clearer picture of the suspect before the attack. Early Thursday evening, William Clark, the suspect in the attack was picked up at 15th and JFK in Center City. Police say Clark has a previous criminal record.

Senator Bob Casey says he'll vote for a ban on assault weapons and large ammunition clips but there's another measure he'd like to see to curb gun violence; he's calling for full funding of federal programs for local law enforcement. Three federal programs support crime fighting efforts at the local level and Senator Casey says they've been cut, collectively, by a quarter of a billion dollars. The programs fund officers to do community policing, buy bullet-proof vests and help pay for programs that assist law enforcement.
