A man went on a shooting spree today in Central Pennsylvania near Hollidaysburg, killing 3 people before being shot himself in a shootout with police. It started around 9:30 am when he shot a woman at a church while decorating for a children's Christmas party in Frankstown Township. While they were processing the scene they got calls to another shooting. This time the gunman shot two men in a driveway of a home after a confrontation at a stop sign. As police were responding to the scene of a shooting they were fired upon from a pickup going the other way. One cruiser crashed head long into the truck. The driver exited the cab and fired upon officers who returned fire, hitting and killing him. Three officers were hurt in the fight. One was hit by bullets in his vest and wrist, one by glass and shrapnel, and another injured in the head-on crash. They are not life threatening injuries. Investigators are still trying to figure out why this man in the tiny village of Geeseytown, about 70 miles west of Harrisburg, decided to start shooting and how he chose his victims.

A 14-year-old student from Council Rock High School South has been arrested and charged with making threats. The school was closed on Friday after Northampton Township Police Department responded to reports of a threat made by a student that they planned to bring guns and knives to school and kill random students and teachers. The juvenile was identified and arrested at home. They found a number of weapons in his room and home including air soft weapons, knives, machetes and swords, a fake riffle that looks like an AK47 and two 9mm fully functional, WWII vintage firearms that were on a nightstand in the juvenile’s bedroom. His parent's were also arrested. 50-year-old Lizabeth Donohoe and 48-year-old Mario Russo, Jr. of Feasterville. Donohoe was charged with possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of children, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and placed in Bucks County Correctional Facility. Russo was charged with obstruction of the administration of justice and resisting arrest and released pending summons. The juvenile was charged with terroristic threats and possession of a firearm by a minor and placed in the Bucks County Youth Detention Center in Edison.

Roger Custer of Levittown stopped into the Fairless Hills news and tobacco shop Dec. 5 for some last minute supplies before heading out on a hunting trip. He also bought a few lottery tickets and two Powerball tickets. He won $5 on the scratch off and put the Powerball tickets in his wallet. When he returned home from the five day hunting trip his friend told him that the winning ticket was sold nearby. Custer jokingly said, “I'm the winner.” When he got home his wife, Linda, checked his tickets and saw the numbers, 3-17-19-27-38, and Powerball 12 match up on his ticket. Custer presented his ticket to the Pennsylvania Lottery Commission today for validation and received his ceremonial check for $33,134,526.18, the amount of the cash payout. He say's he'll probably do a lot more hunting and fishing now.
