A man from Glenside in Montgomery County is now under arrest for impersonating a Philadelphia Police officer on Wednesday night. 30-year-old Michael Green is accused of stopping another car along the 4300 block of McMenamy Street in the Holmesburg section with another section. Both men were armed and pulled the guns on the driver and two passengers, forcing them into the back seat. They were able to escape, but one of them suffered a broken arm. Green is charged with Impersonating a police officer, Aggravated Assault, Robbery and related offenses. The second suspect is still at large. A man is in custody for a second incident of police impersonation Wednesday night. 22-year-old Julian Collins was arrested for allegedly pulling over another car along the 9000 block of Frankford Avenue. The two incidents are not though to be related.

The District Attorney's Dangerous Drug Offenders Unit and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration raided a Fishtown growhouse on the 2300 block of Frankford Ave and found 500 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. They've charged Vinh Quang Nguyen, 41, with possession with intent to distribute, risking a catastrophe, and endangering the welfare of a child. The facility had 343 full grown plants up to 5 feet tall, 150 marijuana plants in incubation, and three large bags of cut marijuana. The wiring system to power the grow lights was called “elaborate and dangerous.” In order to mask the smell, Nguyen has two pots of boiling water and fabric softener attached to the ventilation. His two children's bed were mere feet from the grow rooms. He was arraigned and held on $1 million bail. He's due back in court on Dec. 27.

President Barack Obama will ask Congress for $60.4 billion in federal aide for states hit by Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy including New Jersey, New York, and others. In a Joint statement, NY and NJ Gov. Cuomo and Christie said, ““Today’s agreement on the administration’s request to Congress would authorize more than $60 billion in funding that will enable our states to recover, repair, and rebuild better and stronger than before.” States will use the aid to fix badly damaged infrastructure like roads and tunnels as well as those who lost or were displaced from their homes and businesses.

Michael Green, Glenside, PA
