The National Transportation Safety Board is on hand trying to determine what caused a freight train carrying hazardous material to derail over a bridge in Paulsboro, New Jersey this morning. The 80 car Conrail train was carrying Vinyl Chloride. Three cars ended up submerged in the water. A fourth was dangling from the bridge and ruptured, spilling Vinyl chloride into the air and Mantua Creek. The chemical can have harmful effects on those coming in contact with it in the air as a gas including dizziness, drowsiness and headaches. It is also a respiratory and eye irritant. There were 12 people in the immediate vicinity of the accident that were taken away by ambulance. 72 people in total were treated at Underwood-Memorial Hospital, all but 8 have been released. The cleanup is expected to take several days led by the NTSB. A necessary crane is on it's way from New York. Residents near the area are being evacuated at the night progresses as the gas lingers.

Three Pennsylvania Probation Employees have been fired after an investigation into the murder of Philadelphia Police Officer, Moses Walker in August. The terminations were related to the supervision of the man accused of killing Walker, Rafael Jones. The terminations were a result of procedure and code of conduct violations.

President Obama was in Montgomery County today pushing his message to extend middle-class tax cuts and raise taxes on the wealthy. Obama is trying to avoid letting the US fall off the fiscal cliff January 1st. Obama said that if the tax cut is not approved, the average family of four will see their annual tax bill increase $2,200. He visited the Rodon Group factory in Hatfield, PA. The company/factory makes the popular building toys K'Nex, Tinkertoys, and Lincoln Logs which are all Made in America.
