Police have released the identity of the one man arrested in connection to Sunday's early morning wedding brawl at the Sheraton hotel bar in Society Hill. 26-year-old Matthew Sofka, of Westfield, New Jersey (pictured below), has been charged with assault on police, inciting a riot and related offenses for his alleged role in the brawl. Two others were cited for disorderly conduct and released at the scene. More arrests are possible as the investigation continues. The fighting started in the lobby area and quickly escalated. It involved two different wedding parties and spilled out into the streets. Police were called at 1:30am and numerous officers responded. Portions of the incident were recorded by a hotel guest and posted on YouTube.

“Faith in the Future,” the independent foundation in charge of running the 17 Archdiocesan High Schools, has named their first CEO. Samuel “Casey” Carter will take the chief executive position of the foundation at the reins of Philadelphia's Catholic high schools. Carter is a national education consultant who has studied Catholic, charter, and public schools across the country. The foundation has a $100 million fundraising goal over 5 years to sustain the high schools. They've already raised $15 million and hope the appointment of Carter as CEO will encourage donations to continue.
