Philadelphia Sex Trafficker Charged, Lower Moreland School Tax Fraud, Woman in Field ID'd

A Philadelphia man has been charged with child pornography and the sex trafficking of children. Enoch Smith, a 35-year old also known as "Drees" or "Idris," allegedly operated a prostitution venture in Philadelphia and recruited young girls to work as prostitutes. He also posted advertisements on the internet that advertised the girls either scantily clad or topless with their hands covering their breasts, the price and a phone number to call to arrange a meeting with them. In an indictment, the United States Attorney, Eastern District says that at least one girl was under the age of 18.

A Philadelphia couple is facing charges for obtaining education services in Lower Moreland Township without paying the local school taxes. Authorities say Hamlet and Olesia Garcia fraudulently reported that they lived at the Huntingdon Valley home of Olesiaâ€™s father in order to send their child to school in Lower Moreland. The investigation began in March, when the Lower Moreland School District was alerted that one of their enrolled students actually lived in Philadelphia. Although school records indicated that the student and the Garciaâ€™s lived together in Huntingdon Valley, surveillance performed by the School District revealed the student never left the Huntingdon Valley home in the morning to attend school. Additionally, the vehicle Hamlet Garcia used to drive the student to school was seen earlier in the morning at the Garciaâ€™s home on Philmont Terrace in Philadelphia, authorities said. According to the District Attorneyâ€™s office, the Garciaâ€™s fraudulent conduct resulted in a financial loss to the Lower Moreland School District in the amount of $10,752.81 for the year. Hamlet and Olesia Garcia are charged with Theft of Services and Conspiracy to Commit Theft of Services.

The Montgomery County District Attorneyâ€™s office has identified the woman found dead in a Perkiomenville field Wednesday, as 26 year old Natalie Marella from Ambler, Pennsylvania. Her family members were shocked by her death. Marellaâ€™s body was found in a field on Little Road near Renninger Road Wednesday morning, by a local farmer. Investigators spent the entire day canvassing the area and collecting evidence.
