Romney and Rendell Coming to Quakertown Wawa; Clergy Abuse Case Ends 9th Day No Verdict

A Bucks County WaWa is going to become a political stomping ground Today during lunch. If you are interested in some high powered point/counterpoint along with your Italian shorti then make sure you are in Quakertown. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be preceded by a counter-event led by Pennsylvania's ex-Governor Ed Rendell. Romney will be making his stop at 12:40 p.m. It is part of his six-state bus tour telling voters that "President Obama has offered no hope for the future, and he has left American families to bear the burden of his failed policies." Rendell will be there earlier at 11:30 a.m. to rebuff Romney before he comes. He along with other Democratic politicians will discuss "Romney's failed Massachusetts record and vision." Romney is former Governor of Massachusetts. Saturday June 16th at Wawa, 1960 John Fries Highway in Quakertown, PA

The trial in the clergy sex-abuse case against two Philadelphia priests broke this afternoon. The jury has been deliberating for nine days without reaching a verdict for either defendant. Today the jury continued their requests of the court, and had a portion of the 3-day trial testimony of Msgr. William J. Lynn read back. The portion involved the handling of the case of assigning Edward Avery, a former priest who plead guilty before trial, and a charge of child-endangerment against Lynn related to that assignment. The jury so far as been engaged and upbeat in this deliberation process, though reports were they were a bit edgy and tired late this afternoon. They will return on Monday at 10 am to continue. They have yet to indicate they are at a point they can't reach a decision or they have tried a vote, everything indicates they are thoroughly weighing all aspects presented to them at trial or entered into evidence in making their decisions.

In Sports, Phillies lose 3-0 to Blue Jays in Toronto. Carlos Ruiz leaves game with oblique strain, he'll have it examined today, DL likely for All-Star hopeful.
