New Jersey authorities announced that one person has been arrested in connection to the mass shooting at a house party in Bridgeton, Cumberland County, that left two dead and 12 others injured. 36-year-old Kevin Dawkins of Commerce Street in Bridgeton is charged with multiple counts including prohibited weapons and devices, possession of weapons for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of weapons, and certain persons not to have weapons. His exact connection to the shooting has not been released. More arrests are expected. Multiple firearms and shell casings were recovered from the scene. Investigators have not determined a motive. If you have any information contact New Jersey State Police Bridgeton Station at 856-451-0101.

It happened around 11:50 p.m. Saturday, 5/22, on the 1000 block of East Commerce Street in Fairfield Township, near Bridgeton. There were over 100 people attending a birthday party at the home when the shooting broke out. 30-year-old Kevin Elliott and 25-year-old Asia Hester, both of Bridgeton, have been identified as the fatal victims. The other victims range in ages 19 to 35. One of them was in critical condition. "This was not a random act of violence this was a targeted attack," said New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal at a news conference on Monday morning, 5/24.

An elderly man was struck and killed near Penn's Landing on Sunday afternoon, 5/23, by a car that was possibly street racing. It happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 200 block of North Christopher Columbus Boulevard. The 76-year-old man had stepped into the street when he was struck by a burgundy Chevy Impala. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Impala remained at the scene. Witnesses say that the Impala may have been racing a white Jeep. The driver of the Jeep initially stopped but fled before police arrived. The victim's identity has not been released. Police are searching for the other driver.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed by a Pennsylvania State Trooper in Northampton County on Sunday afternoon, 5/23. It happened around 2:34 p.m. on the 900 block of Berger Road in Williams Township. Troopers responded to a 911 call for a disturbance in the area. They encountered a 55-year-old man outside the home. A confrontation ensued and a trooper fired two shots. No further details are available. The identities of the man and trooper have not been released. The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Major Case Team and detectives from the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
