Authorities in Darby, Delaware County, have been involved in a standoff for several hours this Sunday afternoon, 2/14. The standoff started around 1 p.m. on the 400 block of Main Street. It may be connected to a shooting at the Walmart on MacDade Boulevard in Glenolden earlier this morning around 8:30 a.m. Police used the Walmart shooting suspect's cellphone to track him to this Darby location. The SWAT unit and several dozen police are on location. This is an ongoing situation.

UPDATE: A gunman opened fire on an employee at the Walmart on Sunday morning possibly because of a dispute over a video game. The shot missed. Police and SWAT surrounded the suspect's home in Darby all afternoon. Eventually they stood down believing the man left the premises before they arrived. The suspect is still at large. His identity has not been released.

A man has been charged in connection to a dismembered body found in the back of a U-Haul truck earlier this week in Northeast Philadelphia. 47-year-old Taray Herring is charged with abuse of a corpse, burglary, and related counts. A second man arrested at the time has been released with no charges. It happened on Thursday, 2/11, in the Somerton neighborhood. Police pulled over the rental truck after neighbors called police suspicious of the vehicle having being parked at a neighbor's home on Sanibel Street. Police found body parts inside a trash bag in the back along with a weapon. More body parts were found in a dumpster behind a shopping center. The victim's identity has not been released. Authorities have been removing many exotic pets from the man's home. There is no word on additional suspects or a motive.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a man was stabbed to death inside his Northeast Philadelphia home early on Sunday morning, 2/14. It happened around 4:10 a.m. on the 6700 block of Sylvester Street in Oxford Circle. Investigators say that the victim and a neighbor had gotten into an argument. The neighbor pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen before fleeing. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police know the identity of the suspect.
