Darby Police say that the girlfriend of Officer Mark Hudson used his service revolver to shoot and kill him inside his Glenolden home on Saturday afternoon. 27-year-old Tyaina Finch is facing charges of 1st and 3rd degree murder and related offenses. She is already in custody after being charged in an incident from last summer in which she threatened Hudson with a knife. Hudson had gone to court in January to obtain a restraining order against Finch. They were the only two people in the home on Saturday afternoon. Neighbors heard arguing before the gunshot. Police say that Hudson was shot his is own gun from several feet away. Finch is currently being held on $250,000 bail.

A recently fired firefighter held four people hostage inside a firehouse in Elkins Park, Montgomery County on Tuesday morning before surrendering to police. The incident began around 10:40 a.m. LaMott Fire Company located at Penrose Avenue and Graham Lane. The suspect entered the firehouse and took four firefighters hostage at gunpoint. Before police arrived he fired one shot into the wall with a 9mm handgun. SWAT arrived and negotiators were able to convince the suspect to release the hostages and surrender. He gave up and surrendered without incident at around 11:50 a.m. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Paul Jordan, had been fired by the fire company on Monday. Charges are expected to be filed. “Volunteers firefighters, especially in our township, are very dedicated people and they take it seriously and do a tough job with no money, no pay, but they’re dedicated to it. So when you get terminated or you lose that job for some reason, it’s very traumatic to the firefighter,” Cheltenham Township Police Chief John Norris said.

Philadelphia police are asking the public's help in finding three suspects who burglarized a storage unit in the Port Richmond neighborhood of $1,000's in musical equipment. It happened at 9 p.m. on Friday, March 20th at the Public Store at 2345 Castor Ave. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video. One of the suspects entered through a hole cut in the roof. He then let in another male and female through a side door. They stole numerous items from a storage unit including including 35 guitars, 10 amplifiers, electronic equipment, vinyl records and children's toys. Anyone with information should contact the Philadelphia Police East Detective Division at 215-686-3243.
