Bloomsburg University is standing by it's decision to dismiss a baseball player from the team following an insensitive tweet directed at 13-year-old Philadelphia Little League star Mo'ne Davis. Junior first basemen Joey Casselberry, reacting to the announcement that Disney was developing a documentary on the young star, tweeted, "Disney is making a movie about Mo'ne Davis? WHAT A JOKE. That [expletive] got rocked by Nevada." He backtracked and apologized before closing his account. Davis, who has garnered national attention since becoming the first girl to earn a win and pitch a shut out at last year's Little League World Series, handled the insult well. "Everyone makes mistakes," Mo'ne told ESPN's SportsCenter. "Everyone deserves a second chance. I know he didn't mean it in that type of way. I know people get tired of seeing me on TV. But sometimes you got to think about what you're doing before you do it." She has asked officials at Bloomsburg to reinstate Casselberry, but right now they are standing by the dismissal.

Mo'ne Davis' e-mail to Bloomsburg officials:
To: Dr. Soltz, President, Bloomsburg University

Dear Dr. Soltz,

I am writing about the Tweet sent out by your baseball player, Joey Casselberry, and his dismissal from the team because of it. While I admit I was pretty hurt when I read his comments, I felt sad that he was dismissed from the team. As many people know, my dream is to play college basketball and maybe even professionally. I know how much hard work and dedication it will take to get there, and to have that dream taken away would be heartbreaking. I am sure Joey Casselberry has worked very hard to get where he is and dreams of playing in the major leagues. For this reason, I'm asking you to please allow him back on the team so that he can continue to chase his dream. He made one dumb mistake. I'm sure he would go back and change it if he could. We all make mistakes and deserve to be forgiven. I hope you will give him a second chance and allow him to play.

Thanks.
Mo'ne Davis

A Good Samaritan was run over while attempting to stop a suspect from fleeing a robbery in Upper Chichester, Delaware County on Monday morning. It happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning at the Shell Gas Station along the 3300 block of Market Street. A man entered the gas station armed with a knife. He walked around the counter and took cash from the register. As the robber left the store a customer chased after him and tried to pull him out of his getaway car. The customer couldn't get him out and fell over and underneath the vehicle. The suspect ran over the customer as he pulled away. The Good Samaratan was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is still on the loose. He is described as a man in his late 30s/early 40s, (pictured below). He was driving a a dark late model Volvo V50. Anyone with information on the suspect should contact Upper Chichester Police.

A former Montgomery County 8th grade teacher has pled guilty to having sex with one of her 14-year-old students. 34-year-old Jessica Streeper of Doylestown pleaded guilty to a felony charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. Investigators determined that she had numerous encounters with the teenage boy last spring. He told police that they had sex in her car and at her home. Streeper taught math at Eisenhower Science and Technology Academy in Norristown. She will undergo a sex offender evaluation to determine if she is a “sexually violent predator.” Streeper remains free on bail until sentencing. She faces a maximum 10 to 20 years in prison.
