Tuesday night was filled with prayer and reflection outside engine 64 on Rising Sun Avenue in northeast Philadelphia To pay tribute to fallen firefighter Joyce Craig-Lewis. Joyce Craig-Lewis was admired for her leadership and passion, especially as one of 150 female firefighters in Philadelphia. The 36-year-old mother of two entered a row home fire on the 1600 block of Middleton Street in West Oak Lane trying to rescue an elderly victim and control a fire. The conditions worsened, her team was ordered out, but Lewis did not make it.

New surveillance video HERE is out of a fight between disgraced Rutgers quarterback Philip Nelson, and Isaac Kolstad. Kolstad was knocked out and nearly died from a sucker punch. The video shows the eight-second confrontation apparently over the former quarterback's girlfriend. The video shows Kolstad throwing a punch from behind that knocks Nelson off his feet. Nelson's friend then delivers a blow to Kolstad that knocks him to the pavement. Nelson follows it up with a kick, then takes off. Kolstad was hospitalized and spent months in rehabilitation as a result of his injuries.

Lower Merion Township is about to transfer the Cricket Avenue parking lot near the Ardmore train station to developer, Dranoff Properties to create a large mixed-use residential tower. Opponents of the One Ardmore Place plan will fill tonight’s meeting and speak against the development. They argue the project would be too tall, too dense, and out of character with downtown Ardmore. Dranoff Properties has received the necessary planning approvals and $10.5 million in state redevelopment grants to build the eight-story tower. The design includes 121 luxury apartments, ground-level retail and restaurants, and underground parking. Among the measures expected to be approved Wednesday are a $2 million sale of the township's parking lot to Dranoff, via the Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority; guarantees for public parking spaces; and cooperation agreements between the township, the redevelopment authority, SEPTA, and the developer. The meeting is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. Wednesday at the township building, 75 E. Lancaster Ave., in the second floor board room.
