Traffic Judge Charged Bribery; CB West Cancels Football; NE PA Man Looks Like Frein

A former Philadelphia Traffic Court judge has been charged with bribery in a corruption case that was turned down by the Pennsylvania Attorney General. Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams announced the charges today against Thomasine Tynes. Tynes is accused of accepting a $2,000 Tiffany bracelet from a businessman in exchange for special access to government contracts. The transaction was a sting and the incident was recorded on audio and video. Williams said, "This is demonstrative, tangible evidence of the quid pro quo," while showing the bracelet. The case against Tynes and four state representatives was handed to Attorney General Kathleen Kane when she came into office, but she dropped it citing credibility issues with the informant. Williams took the case and believes the evidence speaks for itself. Tynes is the first to be indicted by a grand jury. She was also charged in the traffic-fixing case and is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of lying to authorities.

Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown, Bucks County, announced today that it is canceling the remainder of the football season for both the varsity and junior varsity teams. School District officials are responding to allegations of hazing that happened before the season but were only recently reported. Some of the hazing activities include forcing new members to touch each others privates. Another, involves dousing them with water before covering them with talcum powder. The school says it received reports of these activities on October 14th and immediately began to investigate. Superintendent David Weitzel says the ongoing investigation has shown there has been misconduct among members of the team and a failure of the coaching staff to supervise prompting this immediate action. The team had two games left on the schedule, including Homecoming this weekend. The entire coaching staff has been suspended.

If there is one man in Northeast Pennsylvania who wishes the manhunt for ambush state trooper killer turned illusive fugitive Eric Frein would end as soon as possible it would be 39-year-old James Tully of Canadensis, PA. That's because Tully is a dead ringer for the man on the FBI's Top 10 list. (see photo below) He lives right in the middle of the area where authorities are searching and gets mistaken for Frein multiple times a day. Tully does not own a car, and can't afford one. He walks five miles to and from work each day and gets confronted so much so that he wears a lanyard with his ID. Last week an off duty officer jumped out of his car and ordered him to the ground at rifle point. He now wears a florescent vest thinking Frein probably wouldn't be wearing one.
