Girl Dead, 3 Injured, Grays Ferry Shooting; Delco Murder Confession; Is Longport Boater Missing?

A 3-year-old child is dead and three adults are wounded after a shooting in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia Friday night. It happened on the 1500 block of S. Etting Street. An argument between two males led to the outbreak of gunfire. One of the men was shot in the head and is in critical condition. A female was caught in the the leg and another female was hit in the arm in the crossfire. The three adults were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The little girl was sitting on a nearby porch and was struck in the chest. She was rushed to Childrenâ€™s Hospital of Philadelphia where she was pronounced dead. A person of interest has been taken into custody.

UPDATE: The child killed last night has been identified as 3-year-old Tynirah Borum. The other victims, further clarified, were a 21-year-old man shot in the leg and a 28-year-old woman shot in the arm. The 24-year-old male shot in the head is in critical condition. The standard reward of $20,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.

A murder suspect in Delaware County, already behind bars on other charges, confessed to two other murders and led authorities to the place where he buried the bodies. 30-year-old John Gonce contacted prison officials to confess to the murder of two victims two years ago. He told police that he stabbed a man and a woman in his apartment in Secane in February 2012, dismembered the bodies, and buried them in Springfield's Indian Rock Park. Upper Darby police brought Gonce to the park today so he could point out the location of the buried bodies. Superintendent Michael Chitwood said they have not found anything yet but will continue to search the park. Although the police know the names of the victims they are not releasing their names at this time. Gonce is awaiting trial for rape and other charges as well as the July 2012 murder of brothers Rohan Bennett, 13, and Christopher Malcom, 17, in Overbrook in July 2012.

Police down the shore are exploring the possibility that a boater gone missing in an accident may have done so on purpose. Two weeks ago, 45-year-old Andrew Biddle's pontoon racing boat hit the rocks in Longport. The passenger was able to swim to shore but Biddle never reappeared. At this point he should be presumed dead. The accident is now coming into question for a number of reasons. First, Biddle is a professional boater and has won several races. It is out of character for him to crash into the rocks. Secondly, Biddle is being investigated along with another man for theft and fraud related to boat sales in Atlantic City. The Egg Harbor Township Police Department has circulated a flyer to law enforcement outlining that they are investing whether or not Biddle was ever on the boat and if he staged his disappearance and is now on the run. Authorities plan to move forward with the fraud charges as if he is still alive.
