| 10 from Local Ironworkers Union Arrested; Don Tollefson Arrested; Pizza Hut Pays WCU Student $10k |

Ten members, including top leadership, of the Ironworkers Local Union 401 were arrested today. The US Attorney in Philadelphia released an indictment today accusing members of the union of using violence, intimidation, even arson to extort contractors to hire union ironworkers. The indictment also alleges that union workers who were hired did not work for their pay. US Attorney David Memeger explains that there is a line between picketing and protest and violence, physical assault, threats, and arson. The investigation into Local 401 began 3 ½ years ago.
Former Philadelphia sportscaster and media personality, 61-year-old Donald Tollefson, has turned himself into police today. He is accused of stealing around $100,000 from various charities in a scheme that also defrauded people out of sports trips and tickets. He was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Daniel J. Finello who set bail at $250,000. He was unable to post ten percent and is being held at the Bucks County jail. Tollefson would solicit donations for charities such as the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, the Salvation Army, and the Brad Fox Foundation by selling packages to events like Eagles away games, however the money never went to the charity and the donors never received their package. The West Chester University student who came so close to winning $10,000 in the half time contest this past Saturday, is going to be a winner after all. The folks at Pizza Hut caught on to 18-year-old Jack Lavery's story and decided to offer him the $10,000, no strings attached, plus free pizza for a year! Lavery was picked to participate in a contest at halftime during the men's basketball game versus Shippensburg. The goal is simple, you get 25 seconds to hit a layup, foul shot, three pointer and half court shot for $10,000. Lavery hit the first three easily, but came up short on the last one. He still had time left and gathered the ball for a last second, one handed heave from half-court that went in. The crowd went nuts. Unfortunately, per the rules he signed, you only get one (1) shot from the half-court and he took two, nullifying the win. Thanks to the viral video and Pizza Hut's PR team, he's getting the cash and the pizza. That's all a college kid could ask for.
