SEPTA Has No Plans For Extra Festival Trains; Chalfont Police Shooting was a Hoax

SEPTA does not plan to run extra trains after the Parkway concerts this weekend. They will add a few extra cars to the the Regional Rail trains, but don't necessarily rely on them to get home. They'll be running on their reduced weekend schedule and that means reduced capacity and some line's last trains departing around 11 pm. The City has been telling people to take public transport, but that won't help people trying to go home to the suburbs on the rails unless they leave the concerts early. SEPTA says that the subways will be your best bet to leaving the area because they can run frequent trains, but they only take you to the edges of the city. You'll have to find your own way from 69th Street or Fern Rock. Plan your route ahead of time, for schedules go to: septa.org

From septa.org:
SEPTA will operate shuttle service between the Mann Music Center (5201 Parkside Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19131) and the Made in America concert site (Kelly Drive at 25th St.).

The shuttle, from the Mann, will operate every 30 minutes from 12 Noon until 5:00 p.m. and then every 60 minutes between 5:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

At the conclusion of the concert, shuttle buses will depart from Kelly Drive at 25th St. for the return trip to the Mann Music Center.
Regular SEPTA fares will apply for all trips on the Made in America
shuttle.

SEPTA will be selling tokens (2 packs) and One-Day Convenience Passes (good for 8 trips on any bus, trolley, subway route) at the Mann Music Center

Officials from the Chalfont Police Department held a press conference Tuesday night and said that Chalfont Police Officer Jon Cousin lied about being shot, he made up the incident as part of a hoax. According to Cousin's story he approached a car parked at the Lenape Valley Swim Club at 3:15 am on Monday. When he got out of his patrol car the driver quickly confronted him, then the passenger umped out and shot him in his Kevlar vest. He was taken to Abington Hospital and released. The assailants were supposedly on the loose. The Bucks County District Attorney didn't see all the details adding up. They didn't see gravel disturbance where the other car would have been, they only found the patrolman's shell casings at the scene, and the shot in the vest was at close range with a .380 which would have left a bruise and is also the same type of weapon as Cousin's personal pistol. Cousin is now in custofy and is facing charges of false report, official oppression and possessing an instrument of crime. He will also go through a psychological examination.

Overnight, Clear skies temperature around 70, Wednesday, Sunny High near 80 in Philadelphia
