Andy Reid Gone from Eagles, Fiscal Cliff Deal Closer, Woodbury Woman Murdered

The search is on for a new head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. After 14 years, Andy Reid is out and in a press conference today, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said that the team will consider many candidates, including those in the college ranks, NFL coaches and assistants and former NFL coaches. After finishing the season 4-12 this year and 8-8 last year Andy Reid was let go with one year left on his contract.

Hilary Clinton is in the hospital with a blood clot in her leg. The Secretary of State and former First Lady was admitted to the hospital for a second time following a concussion she suffered from a fall when she fainted while battling a stomach virus. Doctors discovered the clot yesterday and she is expected to stay in the hospital the next 48 hours.

West Philadelphia Crash Kills One, Clinton Hospitalized, Eskin Says Andy Reid is Out

Shortly before 11 p.m last night, police say a car struck several other vehicles before crashing at the intersection of 41st Street and Haverford Avenue in the Belmont section of the city. One male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male victim, who was ejected from the vehicle, is in critical condition.

Gloucester Man Tries Set Mother/House on Fire; Man Chased/Shot in S.Philly; Bucks Co. 5k for Newtown

A Gloucester Township man is being held on charges of charged with two counts each of attempted murder, attempted aggravated arson, and terroristic threats. Paul Dobrzynski doused himself, his mother, and another man inside their home on the 600 block of Marino Avenue. He then blew out the pilot on the oven and allowed the house to fill with natural gas. Snow blanketed Philadelphia today causing a few power outages in Northeast Philadelphia. Those were restored by the afternoon to 1300 customers. Roads may have been slick and visibilities low early on, but only a few accidents were reported around the region. Mainly the snow left us with just enough snow to make the landscape look picture perfect for the season without causing enough havoc for anyone's travels. The average snow fall around Philadelphia was around 3.5 inches.

The 18-year-old man who turned shot into an open SEPTA train hitting two men after a Sixers game was arrested Friday evening in North Philadelphia. Police located Matthew Early hanging out at a friend's house on the 1700 block of North 27th Street. He was arrested without incident. His 16-year-old brother, Eric, was arrested last week. Eric was charged as an adult with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and conspiracy. Bail was set at $5 million. Matthew is expected to be charged similarly.... Read More

The gunman who shot three officers inside the Gloucester Township Police Station early this morning did it with an officer's firearm. The shooter is Eddie Jones III, a Department of Corrections employee. Police returned fire and killed Jones. Jones had been arrested in connection with a stalking incident. While at the police station, Jones attempted to escape and overpowered an officer and grabbed her gun. When other officers came to her aid, Jones started firing. One officer was struck... A gunman was killed inside the Gloucester Township Police Station early this morning after shooting at least one police officer. In all, three officers were injured. The injuries to the police officers do not appear to be life threatening. One of the officers was sent to the hospital for surgery.

Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf Dies, Snow Coming to Philadelphia, Teenagers Arrested in Upper Darby Rap

Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf, retired army general, has died. Schwarzkopf commanded U.S. troops in the early 90's and led the international coalition that drove Saddam Hussein's Iraqi forces out of Kuwait during the first Gulf War. Schwarzkopf died from complications associated with pneumonia in Tampa Florida. He was 78 years old.

Deadly NJ Turnpike Crash; Code Blue in Del Val.; Upper Darby Christmas Rape and Assault

A crash along the New Jersey Turnpike this morning proved to be deadly. It happened along the southbound turnpike near Exit 5 in Mount Laurel, Burlington County just after 10 am. Three people were killed and one was taken to Cooper University Hospital with minor injuries. The wreck involved two tractor-trailers and two passenger cars (a silver Toyota Camry and a Ford Edge).
