Man Dies at Sugar Plant, NJ Bill Requires Recess, Upper Darby Man Arrested for Exposure |

An accident at a sugar plant in Bucks County has left a man dead today. The temporary worker was on a catwalk and fell into a vat of sugar at the CSC Sugar plant on Roebling Road, Fairless Hills. He was missing for about an hour before staff found him. Falls Township police are trying to determine how he fell into the sugar vat. There is no indication of foul play. CSC Sugar refines cane and supplies to Snapple, Turkey Hill, Ben and Jerry's and Wawa for their products.

Authorities say they are investigating what they are calling the "suspicious death" of a two-month-old baby that was discovered Sunday morning in Upper Moreland, Montgomery County. According to authorities, the infant was found around 9:30 a.m. at the Wellington Apartments on Horsham Road. Officials aren't releasing many details at this time. An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Monday.

Today the Vatican confirmed that Philadelphia will be the site of World Family Day. Archbishop Charles Chaput (pictured) expects a high energy convocation drawing tens of thousands of visitors to town. The gathering happens once every three years. This will be the first time the event happens in the United States. There is hope that the new Pope will come to Philadelphia for the event, scheduled for September 22nd to 27th 2015,

"Silver Linings Playbook" was filmed extensively in Upper Darby, Ridley Park, Lansdowne, and Ridley Township (and of course throughout Philadelphia). An explosion that rocked Haddon Heights, NJ this afternoon around 3:30 left only a shell of a house that had contained five apartments after it was engulfed in flames. All residents of the building have been accounted for and two people were taken to area hospitals with injuries. One victim was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. A young autistic man and his caretaker were shot this afternoon after being mistaken for burglars by an off-duty Camden police officer. The 21-year-old autistic man, Louis Medina, was on his way home from school when he banged on the door of the officer. The off-duty cop thought his house was being broken into and fired through the ajar door. Medina was shot in the arm and is in stable condition however his caretaker was more seriously wounded. Justin Timberlake will do a live concert in Philadelphia in August. Timberlake along with Jay-Z will play Citizen’s Bank Park on August 13 as part of a tour that starts in Toronto in July and ends in Miami August 16th. Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z will play Hershey August 4th. The August 13th date is the second to last date on the tour.

Two family dogs have been shot and killed by a neighbor in Chester Springs. The Bernese mountain dogs, Argus and Fiona owned by the Bock family, got out of their fenced yard when a tree fell on a portion of the fence. The dogs ended up in the yard of neighbor, Gabriel Pilotti who has a pen of sheep. Pilotti grabbed his shotgun and killed the dogs with two shots. The DA is investigating.

Public hearings resume today, on the plan to permanently close 29 Philadelphia public schools. Emotions ran high at the School Reform Commission last night. Chanting "Save our Schools" and "Moratorium," a few dozen opponents to the school closing plan marched into the School Reform Commission meeting, carrying pictures of Governor Corbett and Mayor Nutter. The five-member School Reform Commission will hear more testimony today and tomorrow, before voting March 7th.
