The June 6th Patty Griffin concert at the Kimmel Center in Verizon Hall was in one word perfect! There are times when a spectacular venue like Verizon Hall can overwhelm the performance, this was definitely not one of those times. The show started with a young man form Texas named Max Gomez. Merchandise for the 2013 U.S. Open is now available at the on-site only store. The 24,000 square foot Merchandise Pavilion is at Merion Golf Course adjacent to the 16th tee. The Merch Pavilion is open to the public Thursday through Sunday before practice rounds begin when a ticket will be required to get onto the grounds.

According to the Camden County Police Department, a man approached a child and told him he had juice and candy and would have money the next day. The 2013 CMT Awards were hosted by Jason Aldean and Kristen Bell. The top highlights from the event consisted of Carrie Underwood singing an emotional tribute to all the Oklahoma tornado victims. Also, Underwood winning the video of the year for her song, “Blown Away†and took away the fan-voted award. The other top winners consisted of: Miranda Lambert and Florida Georgia Line. The death toll is six in the Philadelphia building collapse. That was the word from Mayor Michael yesterday after the Salvation Army Thrift Shop building at 22nd and Market collapsed without warning. One man and five women were killed. Fourteen survivors have been pulled from the rubble. The investigation into the cause of the collapse is continuing.

Three people were killed and at least 13 people were injured following a building collapse in Center City Philadelphia Wednesday morning. At least three people, including two women, were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. Two patients were treated and released. The third patient is listed in fair condition. She wanted a divorce from her estranged husband, Jose Rodriguez and was planning a trip to Newark to visit friends on April 19th by bus. Miley Cyrus's new single off her new fourth studio album had been released. The debut of the song premiered on Ryan Seacrest's radio show yesterday. Her new album is expected to be different than her other albums.

Dark smoke from a trash fire billowed over Southwest Philadelphia late Tuesday afternoon. The fire broke out at about 4 p.m. at the junk yard along Gray's Ferry Avenue and South Hanson Street. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
