Tearson Remembers Zimmerman Lawyer from WMMR, Kane Gets Grand Jury Judge Out, Excessive Heat Week |

The attorney for George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin murder trial was a Philadelphia DJ in the 70's for radio station WMMR. That's what iRadioPhilly DJ Michael Tearson told the Daily News. Tearson also worked at WMMR at the time and said West was there for "a long sip of water" between 1977 and 1978. West got a Master's degree from Penn and worked at several radio stations.

After more than 15 hours of deliberations the jury of 6 women in Sanford, FL has found George Zimmerman not guilty in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The jury had one question and sent the judge a note asking for clarification on the manslaughter charge this afternoon. The man who was suspected of stealing thousands of dollars by taking the wedding cards after a reception in Montgomery County on Sunday July 7th has surrendered. Joseph Patrick Franzone, Jr., 35, turned himself into a District Justice in Lower Gwynedd Township Friday morning. Upper Merion Police have a 47 year old man in custody accused of sexually assaulting a 16 year old girl he met at an Alcoholics anonymous meeting. Paul Corrigan, who police believe was a school teacher 5 years ago, was found with the girl at a local hotel after both his wife and the girl’s mother reported them missing.

Rutgers University's Board of Governors approved hundreds of dollars in annual tuition and fee increases Thursday as angry students opposed to the hike drowned out the vote with shouts and protests. When combined the increases in tuition and fees would increase costs 3.3 percent, or $427 more per year, for in-state undergraduate students in New Brunswick. Budget officials said the hikes were necessary to fund mandatory salary increases and will be used as seed money for projects.

Darren Daulton underwent brain surgery a couple of weeks ago to remove two tumors. According to a release from the Darren Daulton Foundation, the former Phillies catcher has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. It is unclear whether all cancerous cells have been removed from Daulton, but GBC is usually highly malignant.

A teenager has been ordered to stand trial in the stabbing death of his girlfriend on a suburban Philadelphia hiking trail. The 17-year-old Skippack youth on Wednesday waived a preliminary hearing in Montgomery County on first- and third-degree murder charges.
