Police say a 12-year-old girl is in serious condition after a car ran into the side of a Port Richmond home. The driver traveling at a high rate of speed swerved and ran into the side of a home at 2000 block of E. Somerset Street. Investigators say the girl suffered abdominal injuries and was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital. She is listed in serious condition.

Authorities say there is no problem at a Pennsylvania nuclear power plant after the sirens went off briefly. The sirens sounded at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station on the Susquehanna River Tuesday morning in York County. The office of Emergency management said that there was no emergency and there is no reason to be alarmed. Congress did not pass an emergency spending bill by midnight, so non-essential government employees are staying home from work without pay. Investigators say an unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday night in Port Richmond at the 3500 block of Aramingo Avenue. Philadelphia Police say a man in his 50's was struck by a female driving northbound on Aramingo Avenue. Investigators say the driver stopped at the scene. The victim was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Philadelphia SVU investigators are looking for man who raped a teenage girl in North Philly last week. Police say the teen was stopped at a red light in the Olney section when the man jumped into her car and pointed a gun at her.
