A man who gained Internet fame as "Kai the Hatchet-Wielding Hitchhiker" has been indicted on murder charges in the beating death of an elderly New Jersey man. Prosecutors say 25-year-old Caleb McGillvary could face a life sentence if he’s convicted. A county grand jury handed up the indictment Wednesday. McGillvary is accused of killing 74-year-old lawyer Joseph Galfy, whose body was found May 13 in his Clark home. McGillvary was arrested in Philadelphia days later.

The White House released long awaited numbers in relation to the rollout of Obamacare through the glitchy Healthcare.gov website. Only 26,574 people have successfully signed up and enrolled in a healthcare plan through the site. That includes those who have and have not paid the first month premiums. A Bucks County family is mourning the loss of Renee Radziwon who was killed by a cougar while working at the Wildcat Haven Sanctuary in Oregon. According to reports, she violated procedure by entering the Cougar area alone. Renee's parents cannot believe their 36 year old daughter who has a husband and 6 month old baby girl, would have put her life in jeopardy.

A Georgia-based dog food company has expanded a recall involving its teriyaki dog treats over salmonella concerns. Officials from Bailey's Choice say a recall of the company's Teriyaki Chicken Treats has expanded to include Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and Tennessee. Bailey's Choice is working with the state Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug administration to remove the pet treats from stores.

The Philadelphia Phillies have made their first major offseason move agreeing to a two-year, $16 million contract with free-agent outfielder Marlon Byrd. The 36-year-old Byrd had a career season last year hitting .291 with 24 home runs, 88 RBIs in 147 games last season with the Mets and Pirates. A carriage horse went down on 8th Street in Philadelphia over the weekend and was pronounced dead on social media by several passers-by who snapped pictures and posted eye-witness accounts to Facebook and Twitter. Fortunately, they were all wrong. It turns out that the 1,800 pound horse named Silver fell after it tripped on a manhole cover. Silver is fine.

Since opening up a 24-hour call center in Philadelphia to help people looking for friends and family in the Philippines on Saturday, the local chapter of the Red Cross says more than 300 calls have come in. Officials say that a majority of the calls have come from people across the country, with a couple dozen of them coming from people living in the Philadelphia area. The call center remains open 24/7. The first snowflakes of the season could reach the Philadelphia skies overnight tonight into Tuesday. Expect rain showers to develop overnight as an arctic cold front starts to move into the area.
