Eighteen people were busted this morning in a pair of drugs raids in Collingdale, Delaware County. The raid dubbed “Operation My Block†focused on the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue that had become overrun by two rival drug gangs. Neighbor complained of the increasing violence, gun fire, and drug activity on their block. Seventeen were arrested for possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. Nelson Mandela, former South African president, has passed away at the age of 95. Mandela spent 27 years in prison for treason for opposing the apartheid government of the National Party. He was released in 1990 and continued his work as head of the African National Congress, eventually leading to the end of apartheid and his election as the first black president. Legendary boxer Joe Frazier, who made Philadelphia his home, will be memorialized in a 9 foot statue to be placed in the stadium complex area in South Philly. The Art Commission approved sculptor Stephen Layne's design yesterday. The pose is from one of Frazier's most storied moments, his knockdown of Muhammad Ali with a left hook in the 15th round of the "Fight of the Century" in 1971. Joe Frazier was the first to beat Ali.

Philadelphia police found missing child, eleven-year-old Branden Durham who was last seen at his home at 12:45 p.m. Video cameras captured Branden traveling on foot eastbound on Elmwood Avenue from 66th Street at 2:19 p.m. Around 10:45 p.m., police announced they’d found Durham.

A masked man with a sawed-off shotgun robbed a popular late-night establishment in Fishtown early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the Loco Pez restaurant and bar on the 2400 block of E. Norris Street. The suspect forced two employees and two customers back into the bar after closing and demanded money. He made off with about $1000. He is described as a black male and was wearing a face mask, sunglasses, and a tan jacket. No one was injured.

A woman was caught stealing toys from a Toys for Tots donation bin in a Bucks County restaurant. It happened in a Wings-to-Go in Fairless Hills, PA.
