A New York City company is recalling vacuum packs of smoked Nova salmon that were sold to Giant supermarkets in the Mid-Atlantic region because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Acme Smoked Fish Corp. said Tuesday that it is voluntarily recalling 564 pounds of Imported (Product of Denmark) Acme 4oz. (113g) smoked salmon with a lot code of L.05122014. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced its decision this afternoon to award the second Philadelphia casino license to the Live! Hotel & Casino project which will be located in South Philadelphia near the stadium complex. The project is a joint venture between Cordish Companies and Greenwood Gaming. The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis will visit Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families in 2015. The Pope is expected to participate in closing ceremonies on the Ben Franklin Parkway Friday, September 25th to Sunday, September 27th. Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput and his contingent were present when the Holy Father made the announcement. Chaput is overjoyed.
