Philadelphia International Airport is dealing with dozens of cancelled flights this morning. The majority of the cancellations are with arriving flights, but there are a good number of departures that have been cancelled as well. The majority of the affected flights are scheduled to either arrive or depart before 10am. Philadelphia City Councilman Jim Kenney has announced that he will resign his position on council this week. Kenny's final council meeting will be this Thursday. This is in anticipation of the Councilman-at-large's larger announcement that he will run for mayor. The city's 'resign to run law' forces elected city officials to resign before running for another office. Kenney, a 23-year veteran of the council, joins Lynne Abraham, Anthony Williams, and Nelson Diaz in the Democratic running.... Read More |

Yesterday, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter announced that a Snow Emergency would go into effect 6:00 p.m. Monday evening to prepare for the incoming snow storm. That snow emergency was called off at 6:00 this morning. Cars can now begin to park on snow emergency routes that were previously off limits. If your car has been relocated you can call 215-686-SNOW to find out where it has been moved to.

Snow Emergency Lifted In Philadelphia and New Jersey |

At 6am on Tuesday, the Snow Emergency in Philadelphia was lifted. Normal parking can resume on Snow Emergency Routes. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced on Twitter that the travel ban for south of Interstate 195 in that state was lifted as of 7am. Effective at 7:30am, the travel ban was lifted for all 21 counties in New Jersey. All Philadelphia Public and Archdiocesan schools are closed on Tuesday.

Ahead of the forecasted Nor'Easter, Philadelphia has declared a Snow Emergency starting at 6 pm tonight. Residents who have cars parked along posted Snow Emergency routes will need to move their cars or else they will be ticketed and towed. Homeowners are reminded to clear a three foot wide path in front of their homes within 6 hours of the end of the snow. Throwing snow back into the streets could result in a fine. A major winter storm is rolling up the coast. After the first round of snow overnight, the snow will intensify through the afternoon today with heavy accumulation tonight into Tuesday. Snowfall will pile up at a couple of inches per hour and create whiteout conditions with strong winds blowing and drifting snow before it tapers off Tuesday afternoon. We have a long way to go.

Body of Missing Teacher Christopher Tully Found in Schuylkill River |

A body pulled from the Schuylkill River near Falls Bridge in East Falls has been identified as a missing Bucks County teacher and father. 40-year-old Christopher Tully was last seen exiting his parent's car where City Ave meets Lincoln Drive. Tully was an award winning teacher at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology in Warwick and a married father of three. His cause of death is currently unknown.

A snowplow operator suffered only minor injuries when the top deck of a parking garage he was plowing collapsed. It happened just after 7 a.m. Saturday in Secaucus, NJ, leaving a large hole in the top of the garage. The parking garage serves the nearby Empire Hotel and a multistory office building.
