Sunday was a beautiful day the the Big Barrel Country Music Festival. The sun was intermittent with the clouds and the temperature might have gotten to 80. Most of the water was gone from Saturday and a fair amount of the grounds had begun to dry up, with only a few serious mud patches left to navigate. The crew worked hard to get it ready for the crowds to return Sunday, and there were significantly more people through out the day than on Saturday.

Big Barrel Country Music Festival Day 2 on Saturday was an adventure for all who dared enter. The forecast was for rain and it certainly rained, and rained for most of the afternoon and into the early evening. If you were trying to avoid the big mud puddles early on, it became futile in the late afternoon as drenching rains turned the grounds into one giant pond. Friday was the first day of the inaugural Big Barrel Country Music Festival held at the Woodlands at Dover Downs in Dover, DE. The festival is held on the same grounds and is put together by the same folks who have brought Firefly Music Festival to the area the past four years. Big Barrel is a scaled down operation, utilizing a fraction of the festival area and only two stages. In the NBA draft last night the 76ers chose Duke big man Jahlil Okafor with the third overall pick. The Sixers missed out on point guard D’Angelo Russell when the Los Angeles Lakers grabbed him with the #2 pick. The 76ers now have three towers in Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid and Okafor.

About 137,000 people are still without power following Tuesday night's powerful storms. PECO is reporting 16,000 without power in Delaware County, 13,000 in the dark in Chester County and 900 customers without service in Montgomery County. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is expected to announce on Tuesday his intentions to run for President in 2016. He will make the formal announcement at Livingston High School in North Jersey where he attended high school. According to data released by Philadelphia's Police Department, Police officers are shooting less often, firing fewer bullets when they discharge their weapons and striking fewer civilians compared to 2012. Shootings by police have plunged since a spike three years ago, when officers killed 16 people and wounded 32. Between Jan. 1 and mid-June of this year, police fatally shot one person and injured seven others.
