Residents in North Jersey woke up to the ground shaking early Friday morning. There's been a small earthquake centered in Somerset County. The U.S. Geological Survey says it registered a magnitude of 2.5 around 4 a.m. There's no reports of any damage at this time.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter held a press conference this afternoon to announce more plans surrounding the Papal visit next month. Last week they revealed a 'traffic box' where vehicle traffic will be allowed to leave but not enter. This is to "protect millions of people walking on narrow city streets and sidewalks." A plan for a televised debate on NBC10 between Democratic mayoral candidate Jim Kenney and Republican Melissa Murray Bailey has been cancelled because of "unreasonable demands" from the Kenney campaign, according to the television station's vice president of news. Two men in their mid 20's were shot Wednesday night in West Philadelphia. This happened on the 5300 block of Chancellor Street. Both victims were shot in their feet, following what they say was an earlier incident. One victim was transported to the hospital, the other walked in on their own. Police say a family member of one of the victims showed up to the scene with a gun and was arrested.

A Pennsylvania beauty queen is facing charges she faked having leukemia to benefit from fundraisers, and has been jailed. Brandi Lee Weaver-Gates, of State College will be stripped of her title as Miss Pennsylvania U.S. International. The 23-year-old, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of theft by deception. Police are investigating a shooting in Point Breeze, when two dozen shots fired overnight in the 1800 block of South 30th Street sent residents running for cover. Several 911 calls led police to a home on South 30th Street where they found two men struck with bullets. A 20-year-old was struck in his foot and lower back, and the second victim, 22, had gunshot wounds in both of his legs. A third man was shot in the hip around 19th and Tasker Streets. Each August as the Earth's annual orbit takes it through the remains of the comet Swift-Tuttle/109P, we are treated to a dramatic show of meteors streaking through the sky called the Perseids. A man was struck and killed by a tour bus this morning in Center City right in front of police headquarters. It happened at 9:47 a.m. at the intersection of North Franklin and Race streets. The 46-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street when the white tour bus turned the corner and hit the man. The bus dragged him for 50 feet and did not stop.
