For the second time in a decade, Cheyney University has failed to properly manage financial aid that it awards students, and as a result may owe the U.S. Department of Education more than $29 million. Errors were found in nearly 85 percent of about 4,400 financial aid records reviewed from 2011 to 2014, according to a report released Thursday by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

A brazen jewelry heist was caught on camera in Mercer County, New Jersey. The video shows the two masked bandits breaking into Trent Jewelers through a side glass window on Wednesday morning. Once inside the Quakerbridge Road store, they smashed several display cases and stole several thousand dollars worth of jewelry. A 20-year-old man is under arrest after police say he took a shot at them in East Germantown. Police responded to the 100 block of East Pastorius Street about 9:30 Wednesday. Police say the man fired a weapon at them, and several officers returned fire. No one was hit in the exchange of gunfire. Police took at least four other men into custody at the scene as well.

Archaeologists doing a dig at the site of the Battle of Red Bank in Gloucester County may have uncovered a cannon that exploded in 1777 during a battle defending Fort Mercer against the British. That explosion killed 12 American regiments during the fight on October 22nd 238 years ago. Until the find is tested and verified, the heavy artillery will remain in the ground.

A man who jumped the White House fence earlier this year was shot and killed after stabbing a sheriff's deputy inside the Chester County Justice Center today. 33-year-old Curtis Smith of Coatesville, PA, entered the Justice Center in West Chester around 11 a.m. He ran right through the doors and past security yelling, 'I'm gonna get ya, I'm gonna get ya.'
