Today the entire Philadelphia region is basking in the glow of a historic U.S. visit by Pope Francis. A reported 860,000 people filled the Ben Franklin Parkway for Sunday's Papal Mass. And Pope Francis touched many. He returned the Vatican last night leaving behind for all who listened, a reason for new introspective thoughts and ideas on how to live our lives.

Now that the hundreds of thousands of pilgrims are making their journey back home following the papal visit, the rush is on to get Philadelphia cleaned up and back to normal. The State Police were moving in formation marching down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the applause of a grateful crowd. The work has started and will likely last for days, but so many came from so far away and are now leaving with a lifetime memory.

The city of Philadelphia is relocating homeless people in Center City in preparation of the Papal visit. If you walk past Love Park or many other areas in center city, one of the things that is noticeably missing is the presence of the homeless people who frequent those places. Federal authorities in Philadelphia announced that over 360 lbs of cocaine were discovered last week in a shipment of pumpkins and squash from Costa Rica. The street value of the drugs is around $6 million. Thin packages containing the powder were laminated inside the boxes of fruit. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers confiscated it all.
