A recent graduate from West Catholic Preparatory High School in Philadelphia is among the fatal victims of Sunday's massacre in Orlando. 18-year-old Akyra Murray of West Philadelphia had travelled to Florida with her family following graduation last week. A vigil is scheduled for tonight in Evesham Township for singer Christina Grimmie, the 22 year old South Jersey native gunned down Friday night after a concert in Orlando. Grimmie, who gained national recognition after her third-place finish on NBC's The Voice in 2014, grew up in the Marlton section of the township. Investigators are trying to determine a motive. 50 people have been killed and 53 wounded in a mass shooting inside a gay nightclub in Florida early Sunday morning. It happened at 2 a.m. at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. The gunman was carrying an assault rifle and a handgun. He has been identified as 29-year-old U.S.-born citizen Omar Mateen who was living in St Lucie County, FL. A Philadelphia television reporter was attacked live on air as she was delivering a report outside of City Hall on Wednesday night. Police say a woman was stabbed once in the forehead Thursday on the Schuylkill River Trail in Center City. This happened just after 3 p.m. near Walnut Street. State police picked up 33-year-old Anthony Thomas Gilbert of Upper Chichester around noon Thursday in South Philadelphia.
