Man Barricaded in S. Philly House, Boy Falls From Apt. Complex, Bill for Radar Guns |

Police responded to a call Tuesday night of an armed man who barricaded himself inside his house in South Philadelphia. Police arrived on the scene at 6:15 pm on the 200 block of Morris Street. The man was reportedly suffering from mental issues and was inside his house with two hunting rifles. Police sent out a tweet to the area telling the public to avoid from the street. The man eventually surrendered to Police and no injuries were reported in the ordeal.

Police have ID'd and charged the man responsible for ruining the Malandra Hall Community Center youth football field in Camden, New Jersey. The suspect is 20-year-old Gloucester County resident Alexander Peters. Police say that Peters also confessed to spray painting a swastika on the property as well. A man was shot and killed Monday night in Kensington on his 30th birthday. Police responded to several 911 calls to the area of Allegheny Avenue and F Street around 11:30 p.m. They found a man lying in the middle of street, unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the head and upper back. SEPTA workers voted on Sunday to authorize a strike beginning on November 1st if an agreement on a new contract isn't reached by the end of the month. The Transport Workers Union Local 234 represents 4,738 SEPTA bus drivers, subway and trolley operators. Members met on Sunday and overwhelmingly voted to authorize the strike. Today was Juror Appreciation Day in the Philadelphia Courts and hundreds reporting for duty on Monday morning to Room 101 of the Criminal Justice Center had a few surprises. Villanova head basketball coach Jay Wright and the Phillie Phanatic both 'reported' for duty as well. Wright talked to the jurors thanking them for their service and how important it was to the community and our democracy. A woman has been arrested for stabbing a man 77 times and setting his body on fire in his Germantown apartment last month. 52-year-old Tina Vanderhorst was taken into custody without incident by U.S. Marshals in an apartment in Mayfair where she had been staying with a friend. Vanderhorst is accused of stabbing to death 64-year-old Robert Lynch in his apartment on the 500 block of East Church Lane and then returning on the morning of September 12th to set the body on fire.
