Part of Martin Luther King Drive in Philadelphia will be closed during certain hours of the day starting Tuesday due to construction. The construction comes about after a 75 foot portion of the Schuylkill River wall fell into the river back in August. A section of supported asphalt walkway came down with the wall as well, which can be a safety hazard to the public. A rookie New Jersey state trooper was killed last night in the line of duty in a head-on collision on on Rt. 55 in Millville, Cumberland County. The crash happened just before 7 p.m. near milepost 22.2. 31-year-old Trooper Frankie Williams of Atlantic County was traveling northbound while responding to a call of an erratic driver. New Jersey State Police responded to a call last night of a fatal car crash that took place in Millville, Cumberland County. The accident happened at around 7 pm on Monday night in the northbound lanes of Route 55. The crash involved a police car and another vehicle. The man in the car was killed as a result of the crash, and the officer in the police cruiser was seriously injured. Police are now investigating after three men broke into a house in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia in the early morning hours of Sunday. The incident happened on the 4600 block of Oakmont Street at around 4 am. Five adults and three children were inside of the home when three armed men broke in. Explosions at a PECO substation in Center City caused massive amounts of fire suppressant foam to leak from the building and cover an entire block. Police received several 911 calls around 1 p.m. reporting explosions coming from inside the PECO Waverly Sub Station on the 400 block of South Juniper Street near Lombard.
