Since its debut, iRadioPhilly has been a proud supporter of Our Community Cup Coffeehouse. On Saturday, February 13th Our Community Cup will celebrate its first anniversary with a multi-artist festival. After being found guilty of violating his probation following a 2009 gun and drug conviction on December 17th, Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill was ordered not to work or perform (or even leave Philly) before his February 5th sentencing, which could mean a return to jail. When iRadioPhilly chose the name 5 years ago for its 'Isis' radio station featuring contemporary pop hits, terrorism was not an image we hoped to paint for the brand. In the mainstream public consciousness back then, the term Isis had nothing to do with the Islamic State or the terrorist acts ISIS has become known for. Now we may need to go back to the drawing board.
