A teenage boy has been arrested in the beating death of an elderly man in North Philadelphia last month. 14-year-old Richard Jones is charged as an adult with third-degree murder and criminal conspiracy in the death of 73-year-old James Lambert. Jones surrendered to police along with his 10-year-old brother on Monday, 7/10. His brother was released. It all happened on June 24 around 2:45 a.m. The incident was captured on surveillance video. A group of teenagers attacked Lambert, hitting him in the head with a traffic cone and other objects. He died the next day. There were 7 teens seen in the video, four boys and three girls. Police expect others to turn themselves into authorities. There is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

UPDATE: A 14-year-old girl surrendered to police on Wednesday, July 13. She is expected to be charged as an adult with murder and conspiracy. A 13-year-old girl also surrendered. She is will not be charged.

The Original Tony Luke's at 39 E. Oregon Ave near Front Street in South Philadelphia will be changing its name to Tony and Nick's Steaks by the end of the month. Store owners, 84-year-old Anthony Lucidonio Sr. and his son 56-year-old Nicholas Lucidonio, pled guilty to federal tax evasion charges in May. They were accused of hiding millions of cash earnings. They also paid employees in cash and failed to withhold federal income taxes. Tony Luke Jr., their son and brother, split from his family in 2015 and was not implicated. However, Luke Jr., the familiar face of the brand, owns the rights to the name and franchising. There are now Tony Luke's shops in several states. The original shop has been in South Philly for 30 years, but must change the name because of the controversy.

Good Samaritans rescued almost two dozen passengers on a charter fishing boat down the shore on Monday, 7/11, after it started to sink. The Starfish Charter Boat collided with the Townsend Inlet Bridge in Sea Isle City and began taking on water in a few compartments. The boat began to list to one side. Nearby good samaritans helped the ship's 22 passengers to nearby docks. The boat's owners say it will be inoperable for some time, but that they will be back.
