HAVERTOWN, PA - Delaware County, often referred to as the 33rd County of Ireland and Havertown are delighted to welcome the 4th Havertown Irish Festival with an amazing lineup of Irish music and dancing! The event will take place on Saturday, June 25th from 11am to 8p in the rear lot of the Manoa Shopping Center in Havertown. Kelly Music for Life Chairman Tom Kelly says, "We are proud to announce a lineup that includes international touring performers as well as local musicians and dancers including RUNA, JAMISON, JOHN BYRNE BAND, IRISH WILBURYS, SHADES OF GREEN, DAVID BROWN BAND and performances by the EMERALD ISLE DANCERS. Music Festivals are an important part of our fundraising. After 2 years off for the pandemic we are beyond excited to bring the Havertown Irish Festival back!"

Kelly Music for Life is a 501c3 non-profit organization that operates the Kelly Center for Music Arts and Community in Havertown. Net proceeds from festivals support their Arts and Education mission.
Runa breathes fresh life into traditional Celtic music by digging into the songs and tunes to find the universal thread that binds past to present. RUNA lead vocalist and step dancer Shannon Lambert-Ryan is looking forward to returning to Havertown. "We were disappointed that the last 2 festivals had to be cancelled but we are delighted to get Havertown back on RUNA's calendar. Delaware County has always been special to us. The welcome we get there warms our hearts!" RUNA was the feature cover story in the July edition of Irish Music Magazine published June 1.

For the first time since 2019, the Havertown Irish Festival returns after hitting the "pause" button during the pandemic. The event will take place outdoors in the lot behind the Manoa Shopping Center on West Chester Pike at Eagle Road in Havertown, the same location as the first 3 Havertown Irish Festivals. Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 11am to 8pm. The FREE Admission festival is one of FIVE major outdoor fundraising music festivals planned by Kelly Music for Life in Haverford Township in 2022. RUNA https://runamusic.com/ https://www.facebook.com/RUNACelticmusic Runa breathes fresh life into traditional Celtic music by digging into the songs and tunes to find the universal thread that binds past to present. Celebrating its 10-Year Anniversary as a band, Celtic-American Roots music "super group," RUNA, continues to push the boundaries of Irish folk music into the Americana and roots music formats. Interweaving the haunting melodies and exuberant tunes of Ireland and Scotland with the lush harmonies and intoxicating rhythms of jazz, bluegrass, flamenco and blues, they offer a thrilling and redefining take on traditional music. RUNA is Shannon Lambert-Ryan, Fionán de Barra, Cheryl Prashker, Jake James, Caleb Edwards

JAMISON http://www.jamisoncr.com/ https://www.facebook.com/jamisoncelticrock Jamison is a high-energy six-piece band that can take traditional Irish tunes and turn them upside down, blending in rock, reggae, modern pop, and hip-hop along the way. Crowds can't help but get to their feet as Jamison takes Irish music to the next level with original songs and eccentric versions of covers or festival favorites. Since 2003, Jamison has been touring the East Coast's Irish/Celtic festival circuit while maintaining an ever-growing following surrounding Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore. Jamison is Frank Daly, John O'Callaghan, Sean Hicks, Alice Marie, Ant Lusi, AJ Marx

IRISH WILBURYS Making their Delaware County debut. There's no doubt that the live music hiatus that occurred during the pandemic fueled the fire in the hearts of many performers to get back in front of crowds and fill the air with music and song. In late summer of 2021, some good friends, who happen to be some of the most well-known names in the Delaware Valley Irish music scene, found themselves on stage together for a couple shows during Irish Weekend at the Jersey Shore. Following two raucous concerts that weekend, the band members and those who were able to witness the energy of those shows were hungry for more and a new musical project was born. The band members include Michael Boyce of "Blackthorn" (headliners of the very first Haverford Spring Music Festival), Luke Jardel of "The Hooligans," County Tyrone singer, Ray Coleman, Delco native, Tim Buchanan, along with the rock-solid musical stylings of Liam Aicroth, and brothers Billy and Cole Liddell of Angus Road. Raw talent, energy, and love for the music of the Irish greats set the backdrop and shape the presentation of some of the best traditional and modern Irish sounds you've heard in a while! They are the Irish Wilburys!

JOHN BYRNE BAND https://www.johnbyrneband.com/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063619628281 The John Byrne Band is led by Dublin native and Philadelphia-based John Byrne. Their debut album, After the Wake, was released to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic in 2011. With influences ranging from Tom Waits to Planxty, John's songwriting honors and expands upon the musical and lyrical traditions of his native and adopted homes. John has toured with or opened up for acts as diverse as The Hothouse Flowers, Ian Gillan (of Deep Purple), Gaelic Storm, Murder by Death, Finbar Furey, Luka Bloom, The Saw Doctors, The Solas, Sharon Shannon, The Young Dubliners and The Greencards. Both as a solo/acoustic act, and a full 6-piece band, John logs in over 150 shows per year, building a loyal and devoted following. The John Byrne Band is John Byrne, Andy Keenan, Maura Dwyer, Mike Taylor, Freddy Berman and Vince Tampio.

SHADES OF GREEN http://www.scotsilvermusic.com/shades-of-green/ Shades of Green is the perfect blend of Traditional irish and Irish Rock. This group has played everywhere, from large outdoor Irish Festivals to fun and friendly bar/restaurants. We are a host band after the Irish parade in Philly each year, so grab a Guinness, do a jig and join us in the revelry! Shades of Green is available as a duo, trio, and quartet depending on the size of the shindig! Shades of Green is Scot Sivler, Jim Briggs, Pat O'Shea, Eric Schreiber

DAVID BROWN BAND https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbjbU8gsvBA&t=143s Skirting the periphery of the Irish music scene in the Greater Philadelphia Area, The David Brown Band has found a niche at the intersection of classical virtuosity, a lifelong affinity for the Celtic music idiom, improvisation, and a stark aversion to the conservatism of the traditional seisún. Founded in 2004 as the "Stonehaven Minstrels," the all-family act remained a de facto epicenter of Celtic music in the Greater Philadelphia Area for the better part of a decade. The David Brown Band is David Brown, Kaitlyn Waterson, Carolyn Giardini, Jodie Brown, Alberto Giardini, Christopher Brown

EMERALD ISLE DANCERS https://www.emeraldisleacademy.com/ https://www.facebook.com/EmeraldIsleAcademyOfIrishDance/ Our dancers compete locally, nationally, and internationally. We are a participating member of An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG). Our dancers perform locally at many pubs, festivals, corporate events, weddings, parties, and more! Irish dancing builds character, promotes sportsmanship, and develops respect for others and for one's self. Irish dancing is a great way to build long-lasting friendships and have a blast while doing something you love! Emerald Isle Dancers led by Kate O'Brien.
