The suspect wanted in the Brooklyn subway mass shooting attack has been arrested in Manhattan's East Village on Wednesday, 4/13. 62-year-old Frank Robert James was initially deemed a person-of-interest, but NYPD named him a suspect on Wednesday morning. He is charged with one federal count of terrorism on a mass transportation system. Police acted on a tip iin order to find and arrest James on the street. James may have called the tip in on himself. The attack happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 4/12, on a subway train on an N line at the 36th Street and 4th Avenue subway station in Brooklyn. James allegedly set off smoke canisters before firing at least 33 shots. 29 people were injured, 10 were shot. They are expected to survive. Police found a handgun with extended magazines, a hatchet, unused smoke bombs, fireworks, and gasoline in the subway. They also found a key to a U-Haul van. The van was located about 5 miles away near another station. It had been rented by James in Philadelphia. Detectives poured through hours of surveillance footage to track the shooter's movements before and after the attack. A motive is not yet known, but police did say that James has posted videos online that were 'concerning.' There had been a $50,000 reward.

A man wanted for shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend at a King of Prussia gas station last Friday, 4/8, turned himself in to police on Wednesday, 4/13. 38-year-old Rafiq Thompson of Philadelphia is charged with first-degree murder, person not to possess a firearm, possessing an instrument of crime, and related charges in the death of 31-year-old Tamara Cornelius. It happened just before 10:30 p.m. at the Exxon Station at 113 N. Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township. The pair had briefly met up that night around 9 p.m. Cornelius then left to go to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. About an hour later, Cornelius left dinner. Thompson followed her to the gas station. While she was pumping gas, he opened fire. She was taken to the Paoli Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Thompson is being held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. No bail is available for first degree murder.

Cars lined up for hours in Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, 4/13, to get free gas courtesy of a Philadelphia church. It happened from 12-3 p.m. at the Sunoco station located at Oxford Ave and Roosevelt Blvd on Oxford Circle. The Dare To Imagine Church was giving away $30 of gas to each vehicle up to $2,000 total. It was first come, first serve. The church was giving back to the community due to the high prices of gas.
